Refund Policy

All products sold on this website are offered as second-hand goods. As such, returns are generally not accepted. We take all reasonable measures to ensure that products are properly packed and dispatched in the best possible condition. However, once an order has been shipped, we cannot be held responsible for any handling, damage, or issues arising from the postal or shipping service.

Products marked as “Sealed,” as well as any items sold unopened, cannot be returned under any circumstances. This policy exists to prevent potential product substitution, tampering, or manipulation after delivery.

Exceptions may apply in the following situations. If an item specifically described as “Tested” or “Working” is received and is confirmed to be non-functional upon arrival, the customer may request a return. Additionally, if the customer receives an item that is clearly different from the one ordered, a return may also be requested. In these cases, JapanHippo will cover the reasonable costs required to return the item.

However, JapanHippo cannot be held responsible for damages caused during shipping, transport, or customs inspections and handling. If the malfunction or issue is determined to be the result of shipping damage or external handling after dispatch, the return may not be accepted.

Differences in condition, appearance, or quality perceived by the customer compared to product images do not qualify for returns, as all items are sold based on the information and images provided at the time of purchase.

Refund Eligibility Conditions

All refund requests are subject to prior review and approval by our staff. Each request will be evaluated to confirm that the return meets the applicable conditions and that an error occurred on our part before any refund is authorized. Approved refunds will be issued in Japanese yen (JPY). Any currency exchange rates, conversion fees, or charges applied by banks or payment providers are not the responsibility of JapanHippo.

Customs, Taxes, and Import Fees

Any customs duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer. JapanHippo is not liable for any such charges or delays caused by customs inspections.
